Implementation and hosting of the journal management and publishing system Open Journal System (OJS) Together with you we establish or analyze your journal workflow and adapt the software accordingly. Afterwards, we offer technical support and keep the software functional and up to date.
Transfer of the finalized articles into eLibM Once finalized, the articles produced in OJS will be automatically transferred to the “eLibM” publishing platform, where your readers can access them. This means that all new or enhanced eLibM features developed within the scope of the project will also be automatically and immediately available for your own publications. Of course you canalsoeasily exportthe metadataandfiles fromOJSand publish them onyourown website.
Connection to international databases and retrieval systems Your articles will be connected to various relevant scientific databases (abstracting services such as zbMATH or MathSciNet). References will also be transferred to journal directories, e.g., EuDML, the “„Directory of Open Access Journals” (DOAJ) or the journal database ZDB. They are also included into GoogleScholar.
Website design When working with OJS, you may include simple design elements such as your logos or specific colors to convey the look and feel of your journal. The same applies to the eLibM publishing platform. More elaborate design services like creating and implementing a new design for your journal (e.g., designing logos or layout templates for journal articles) are not part of our offer.
Long-term availability and digital preservation To ensure that your journal is available, readable and storable in the long term, we assist you in unambiguously identifying and preserving your articles. This is done by means of permanent DOIS at article level and ISSN at journal level. For digital preservation on several distributed servers, OJS can be connected to the LOCKSSnetwork at no additional costs.
Training To make your editorial team familiar with the OJS workflow we offer various types of training. You may participate in training courses held at your premises or at FIZ Karlsruhe, via WebEx or use the manuals that were specifically written for the different user groups (“Roles”) and tailored to your workflow requirements.
Additional documentation offers Upon request, you may have the metadata of your article individually reviewed and edited by documentation specialists. Our services include, for example, reviewing, standardizing, and completing references or names (e.g., of authors or institutions), and establishing links between references and the original articles and/or various scientific databases.
Support of your work with OJS This offer comprises technical support provided by FIZ Karlsruhe’s helpdesk to anyone involved in the publishing process (i.e., editors, reviewers, and authors). Upon request, FIZ Karlsruhe’s service team will also perform individual work steps or tasks within the publishing process for you, depending on your know-how and resources available.
The basic services described under items 1-5 are offered at an annual flat rate. In addition, a one-time flat rate for initial services (implementation, first customization) is charged. Training prices (item 6) depend on the type and scope of training and the number of participants. As items 7 and 8 are individual, customizable offers, their prices have to be negotiated on a case by case basis. For more detailed information, please contactinfo(at)@elibm-project.org.
